While in the area for a few days, this pub was recommended. The food on the 2 nights we were there was delicious. There is a special 2 course on offer which had plenty of choice. The main menu had a wide variety of food also. They are doing a great job. The food was a very high standard and very reasonably priced as were the drinks. It seems to have very good local support also. Would highly recommend it!

Christening Celebration We were delighted to hold our daughters Christening celebration party in The Red Lion Pub garden. Graham and his team were so friendly and helpful throughout. They organised an exclusive area of the garden for us to use and provided a lovely food buffet for our family and friends, which was very much enjoyed by all. Some of our guests had dietary requirements and Graham kindly organised for them to have an alternative. We were able to decorate with balloons, bunting, banners etc. Though it rained for some of the time, we had undercover shelter with patio heaters to keep our guests dry and warm which was brilliant and the children loved using the adventure playground. It is the perfect place to hold a celebration, I would highly recommend! Thank you so much Graham and team!
100 percent eat here if you’re staying in Thorpe Park We found this place online after reading terrible reviews about the food at Thorpe Park (reinforced by watching the number of complaints when we went for a drink, and the left meals!) we travelled from Yorkshire and booked here, and would 100 percent recommend. We ate for both nights of our stay we enjoyed it so much The food is lovely and very reasonably priced. We tried a variety of things over the two nights and all was delicious, the fish was highly recommended and everything is of a good quality eg no cheap sausage in the kids meals. A very warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. They do have an amazing beer garden too. My little girl was sad she didn’t see the play area on our first visit! Inside it’s a lovely traditional pub with a very relaxed atmosphere. It is just about walkable from Thorpe park but not so if you’ve got little legged people with you, the second night we drove! We would definitely go back if back in the area and if you are going to Thorpe Park would definitely recommend here!
Great food. Have visited on numerous occasions and always had a lovely meal, the landlady is super friendly, the ambience is good with a very nice restaurant area with nicely laid out tables, the colours are pastel shades making it feel calm & airy. This time we visited for Mum-in-laws 90th birthday a table for 4 for lunch. We each had 3 delicious courses. I had Prawn Cocktail unusually served on chunky bread, plenty of prawns & fresh & delicious. I then had Fish pie & steamed veg. I have never tasted such a scrumptious Fish Pie. Followed by Sticky Toffee pud & custard, needless to say I was full to exploding, but happyThe whole restaurant sang Happy birthday when the Landlady came out with M. I. Ls dessert with a candle on top.Can't recommend this charming restaurant /pub enough. Thanks, we'll be back!!
