New update:-
To all our valued customers and local residents,
As you may now be aware, yesterday saw us required by government to shut our premises indefinitely. While we are fully supportive of this move; we are also concerned about the impact of self-isolation on the community, and so we’re looking to soften the edges of isolating but only where it is needed and/or appropriate to do so.
We therefore write to you briefly to offer the following if you live in a 2.5 mile radius from the pub (Chertsey, Egham, Englefield Green, Lyne, Thorpe, Thorpe Lea, & Virginia Water). Our 01932 563 350 phoneline for all of the below is open between 9am and 9pm, 7 days a week:
You are still able to order food, or indeed a draught pint of your favourite lager/bitter/cider, to take away, and we’ll happily continue to deliver orders containing food for FREE. All orders for either food and/or drinks will need to be phoned through on 01932 563 350, and this service will now be AVAILABLE AT THE FOLLOWING TIMES: Mon-Fri 17.30 - 20.30, Sat 10.30 - 20.30, Sun 10.30 - 18.00.
(Bottled drinks are also available, but if you want to purchase draught products, then you will need to bring your own receptacle to the pub to be filled, and will unfortunately not be allowed to consume any alcohol on our premises at this time.)
(We have brought forward our takeaway service opening time at the weekend to enable you to order a cooked breakfast if you so wish - normal (1 of everything) is £6.95, large (2 of everything!) is £8.95.)
(Sunday roasts - pork, lamb, beef, chicken, vegetarian, and vegan - are all available alongside the normal menu every Sunday to take away/be delivered.)
We’re good at fixing and renovating!, so if you have any small job that needs doing, then we’ll come round and do it for you for a nominal charge - no loft conversions or two storey extensions please - you understand the sentiment of our offer to help those who may not be able to readily help themselves as they normally would at this difficult time,
If you have a critical journey that you must complete, but no easy means of doing so, for essential shopping or to collect medication, as examples, then we’ll give you a lift, and
We are currently consulting with Jays Pharmacy in Pooley Green to understand if we may be allowed, with the appropriate controls, to collect and distribute local resident medication, for those who may need to stay at home. If we are able to put the appropriate safeguards in place, then we will be offering this in the coming days to any local resident for whom this would prove useful.
Please feel free to forward this to anyone locally who you think may be in need at this time; and please also feel free to get in touch if there is anything else we may be able to help you with that we haven’t detailed in our offer above.
With best wishes to you, from all on the team at your Red Lion in Thorpe.
